The tale of the company Bosswik is a tale of passion and preserverence.
A passion for genuine high grade leather and the craftmanship required to shape exquisite belts and leather goods. The preserverence to retain production in-house and preserve quality when everyone else has moved to low cost locations.
The company was founded in 1989 by Morten Levorsen with a mission to offer quality belts at reasonable prices. He found that there were too many belts of poor quality with too high a price tag.
He had experience with belts from his parents’ company, so he was no stranger to the craft. Over the years more and more specialized machinery has been implemented in the production, which started just with hand tools.
For several years Morten’s son Anders has been part of the family business marking three generations of belt makers in the company.
The hallmark of Bosswik is the high grade European vegetable tanned leather. Almost all of the leather used in Bosswik comes from Italian tanneries except one single Spanish tannery.
The selective nature of the materials involved emphasizes the great care that goes into crafting every belt and the skills needed to do it properly.
Bosswik employs between 20-30 people depending on season in crafting and selling exquisite belts.
